Since its introduction, Miami-based Beach Cigar Group's Gurkha brand has enjoyed a reputation for its premium and super-premium cigars, presented in novel, upscale packaging. Now, Beach has entered the tinned premium cigar market in a big ... and small ... way, with two new premium offerings. One features natural cigars, the other new and unique flavored cigars, both encased in European-style hinged clamshell tins.
According to company president Kaizad Hansotia, "Our new Big and Small Gurkha Tins retain the impeccable quality we're known for, and their packaging displays meet the same high standards our customers have come to expect in Gurkha cigars. Preliminary response from retailers confirms their eye appeal is magnetic to smokers."
Tinned cigars take the company's products in a new direction, especially their first flavored cigars. The Big Gurkha Tins hold 10 3-1/4" x 24 cigars and retail at $11.95 per tin. The long-filler natural cigars are hand made in Nicaragua, and are available in 5 new blends. Dark Blend #8 and Havana Select Blend #85 are maduros, while Classic Blend #44, Natural Light Blend #224, and Mild Light Blend #967 have natural wrappers.
The Little Gurkha Tins hold 7 cigarillos in each pocket-sized tin, with 13 flavor choices, including the company's popular Ancient Warrior cigar in natural Brazilian Wrapper. The other exotic flavors are Gurkha Classic Blend, Passion Mint, Cognac, Mango Cream, Orange Spice, Exotic Orient, Kiwi Vanilla, Tiramissu, Caffe Tobac, Vanilla, Chocolate, and Passion Fruit.
Small Gurkha Tin cigars are machine made in Belgium and packaged in the Dominican Republic. MSRP is $6.50 per tin. Big and Small Gurkha Tins are currently available at tobacco retailers nationwide.
