Felipe Gregorio cigars are no longer being distributed by Miami Cigar & Co. Philip Wynne, owner of the small Dominican cigar brand, said he has ended the three-month relationship with the south Florida company.
"I have taken back my brands from Miami Cigar," said Wynne in an email. "I thought it would be best that we both went our separate ways. So as of now I am back distributing my own lines and working on some new blends for 2009."
Rene Castenada of Miami Cigar confirmed the change in a phone call. "We decided with Philip he was going to take the brand back," said Castenada, adding that there was no ill will between the companies.
Miami Cigar, the owner of the Don Lino cigar brands, is the longtime distributor of Aurora and Luon Jimenes cigars. On October 31, Miami Cigar began distributing United Tobacco Inc. 's cigar brands in the United States, including 601 and Cubao, which are made by Jose "Pepin" Garcia.
