Pinar del Rio, Cuba, Feb 8.- Cuban cigars Vegas Robaina, ratify their worth after 15 years in the domestic and foreign market, said promoters of the hallmark made from leaves grown in this province.
This brand is recognize because of the quality of the crops in Cuchillas de Barbacoa, which provide the raw material for making that type of cigar brand, told Prensa Latina Hiroshi Robaina, grandson of the legendary tobacco grower Don Alejandro Robaina, who died in 2010 and had the honorary title of Ambassador of Habanos.
The 35 year-old farmer explained that the five cigar brands emerged in 1997 as a tribute to his grandfather, and have high demand in Mexico, Argentina, Spain, Italy, France, Germany, Russia, Holland, Switzerland and Japan, among others.
This is a very popular product in the world, created for beginners and also experienced smokers because its strength is only medium, he said.
The plantations maintain the excellence that made them famous, said the peasant, who expects to obtain in this harvest more than 30 percent of layers for export.
Although the harvest is not yet finish, the plants predict a very high quality. He said the harvest will be bigger and better than previous ones.
